The Friends of Herne School is the PTA at Herne Junior School. Here at Herne we are very fortunate to have a PTA that is and has been such an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time we have raised many thousands of pounds, which has been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and facilities in the school in general.

But it is much, much more than just fund raising. FOHS exists to provide closer links between home and school and is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school working towards a common goal. And its fun! All parents and members of the school community can get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available, and all parents are automatically members of FOHS when they join our school.

As in most schools the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Some of our most popular events are the Summer and Christmas Fairs, Quiz Nights, Cinema Night, Children Discos and sometimes we run events in conjunction with The Friends of Whitehill School.
